this piece comes from a collaboration with the swedish/israeli artist, alexandra gunnarsson (on instagram @alexochgunnar) and the canadian artist, dermai zan young (on instagram @art_dzy). after a dip at dawn in a local spring, we sat facing each other in silence, eyes closed, taking turns to see what color came to the surface. we committed to being ok with not knowing what would happen on the canvas, and gave ourselves permission to make something terrible. each artist took their turn with no interference from the other. it was a practice of being in the moment, trust, and flowing together.
